What is it the redesign of a book?
They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but let’s be honest: it’s impossible.
How many times have you picked up a book simply because of bones or bloodstains?
The cover design process is fascinating, but what’s even more interesting about covers is that, many times, they are renewed, through a redesign (or restyling) process.So, yes, I’m telling you that you end up judging a book twice.
Here are some examples of book redesign.
There are several numbers of book redesigns, whether on classics or new favorites, of a typographic or photographic work, it is interesting to discover the different versions.
There is a kind of magic in defining a book cover, I think this might be worth it to love them twice.

The republic of trees – Sam Taylor
Maximum Ride “The Angel Experiment” is the first book in the science fiction series for children, by James Patterson published by TEA.
JUNK – MELVIN BURGESS
Probably one of the most honest books on the relationship between teenagers and drugs; an intense and moving multi-handed diary, set against the backdrop of a gloomy and nocturnal Bristol, between occupied houses and punk haunts.
For this redesign I chose to be inspired by the style of punk fanzines, combining graphics and illustration.
Conclusion
These last three examples of book redesign are part of a personal project. They are nothing more than the reinterpretation of titles that I have read and that I wanted to pay homage according to my idea.
